Intercon sold to ADT FirstService Corp., which operates under the Intercon Security brand in Canada, Monday said it has agreed to sell its security division to ADT for US$187 million. Who rules in the security vs. fire debate? We’ve all seen movies where the bad guy trips the fire alarm, slips into a building unnoticed and steals a gigantic diamond or pile of cash. While that may oversimplify the situation, there are real issues with the integration of security and fire alarm systems – and some argue that not enough attention is being paid to the potential risks. Cisco rolls out IP cameras, access control system Cisco has announced two IP cameras and an access control system as part of its Cisco Connected Physical Security product portfolio, intended to “ease the convergence of Information Technology and physical security by allowing customers to integrate with existing physical security systems and IT infrastructures.” |
