Genetec, Mercury strengthen partnership

Genetec and Mercury Security have announced a closer technology partnership geared to benefit both Genetec and Mercury customers with a broader, open-platform choice when moving to Genetec’s Synergis IP access control solution.

Genetec customers will be able to leverage Mercury’s complete line of door controllers and associated modules for both new and existing systems.

This expanded partnership between the two companies addresses an ongoing trend in the security industry as demand grows for a more open approach to update legacy access control modules to a unified, IP-based system. End customers will now have a truly ‘open-system’ approach when utilizing the Authentic Mercury platform with Synergis – a fully unified, next-generation IP access control system that can be seamlessly unified with video surveillance, intercom communications, and intrusion panel integration. Furthermore, this collaboration will enable Genetec to offer the full line of Authentic Mercury hardware to its channel of dealers, systems integrators and value-added distributors throughout the world

Genetec’s newest unified security appliance, SV-32, will integrate directly with the complete line of Authentic Mercury hardware. This includes direct integration of intelligent controllers such as the EP2500, EP1502, and PoE-enabled EP1501, in addition to the MR series of reader, input and output modules. Genetec will also integrate Mercury’s M5 Bridge family of products, allowing customers with legacy Casi Micro/5 systems to leverage their existing investment in enclosures, wiring and readers as they migrate to Authentic Mercury hardware and a Genetec Synergis access control management system.

“Mercury Security and Genetec have been technology partners for years, and this tighter relationship will benefit both our end users and industry integrators,” said Frank Gasztonyi, CTO of Mercury Security. “We are very excited about Genetec’s expanded interface through the Authentic Mercury platform and open approach to the security industry.  With Mercury’s system level philosophy for access control, the integrated solution will provide customers with a comprehensive top down approach versus door by door deployment.”

“Taking our existing relationship with Mercury to the next level means additional benefits for our end-users and integrators,” said Jimmy Palatsoukas, Senior Manager of Product Marketing. “Above and beyond supporting some of the most commonly deployed and powerful controllers on the market, we want to make the market’s transition to IP access control and unified security as simple and cost efficient as possible. Leveraging Mercury equipment guarantees that more end users can migrate to our next generation security offerings while continuing to benefit from the advanced capabilities of Authentic Mercury hardware.”
