Family watches home burn from security cam
As wildfires destroyed parts of Fort McMurray, the Wentzell family watched from afar, using the video feed from their doorbell security camera. Devin Wentzell described for a Nova Scotia newspaper, The Chronicle Herald, how he and his family watched the camera’s video feed from an emergency shelter in Anzac, Alta.

“You can hear the howling and the sound of glass shattering and see the smoke. And then it just stops,” said Wentzell. “Our whole neighbourhood is gone.”
