Formerly serving as the vice president of product management at Icontrol, McLaren has more than 15 years of diverse marketing, product development and business leadership experience in the technology and energy industries. She is a member of the Sustainable Buildings Working Group with the Clinton Global Initiative and frequently speaks at industry events like TiECon, Apps World and CONNECTIONS. In her new role as CMO, she will be responsible for product expansion and corresponding marketing strategies to allow Icontrol to continue as the leader in the connected home space.

Gates has more than 20 years of experience managing both hardware and software product lifecycles, and previously served as the senior vice president of engineering at Icontrol. Prior to joining Icontrol in 2010, Gates co-founded telecommunications technology companies Essentel and AudioTalk Networks, and served in engineering and operational roles at First Virtual Corporation, ShareVision Technology and Creative Labs. As CTO, Gates will play an integral role in developing technologies that expand beyond Icontrol’s traditional service provider solutions, to include direct-to-consumer products.

“With increased competition in the connected living space, our ability to develop and market best-in-class technologies is critical,” said Bob Hagerty, CEO of Icontrol. “Letha’s product management expertise and Corey’s engineering leadership are perfectly in line with our commitment to deliver world class home automation solutions.”

“As the concept of the connected home begins to take shape with a wider audience, the way we market smart home technology is changing,” said McLaren. “Our success with these new consumers will depend on our ability to make home automation accessible for all. I look forward to helping families around the world understand the unique benefits of connected living.”

“For more than ten years, Icontrol has led the adoption of the connected home,” said Gates. “As the smart home space evolves, we must ensure Icontrol’s technology solutions remain the most innovative, customizable and adoptable.”
