Hikvision names Chuck Davis director of cybersecurity, North America

In this position, Davis, together with Hikvision Security Lab at Hikvision headquarters, will lead the cybersecurity program for Hikvision North America, overseeing all internal and external cybersecurity initiatives and programs in the region.

Davis said his short-term goal is to “build up a better interface and relationships with security researchers, lead the initiative to work with ethical hackers and examine cybersecurity certification needs for our products and our vertical markets.”

He added that education and outreach are very important in creating an effective cybersecurity program, and Hikvision will be working with their partners on cybersecurity best practices.

Davis brings over 20 years of experience building cybersecurity programs to this position. Most recently, he worked as an executive security architect for IBM, designing and managing the global malware defense and vulnerability management programs.

Previously, Davis served as manager of global cyber defense for The Hersehy Company, building and managing the company’s cyberdefense program.
