Building Intelligence, a provider of identity based access management for visitors, vehicles and vendors, announces the appointment of Ray O'Hara and Ron Martin to its Advisory Board.

October 6, 2014  By Staff

The Building Intelligence advisory board will consist of seven to ten security industry leaders who will serve a two-year renewable term. They represent a diverse group of individuals with expertise and experience ranging from Enterprise Risk Management to security product manufacturing to IT and physical security design and integration services.

“The board that we are assembling is truly exemplary in their individual and combined expertise in leveraging technology to deliver world-class risk mitigation solutions. We expect them to help us deliver cost effective, impactful technology that will enhance homeland security and mitigate corporate and commercial real estate risks.” Said CEO Jeffrey Friedman. The first two Advisors to engage with Building Intelligence represent over 75 years of combined security industry experience and offer guidance and advice with regards to corporate and US Federal security requirements, strategy and governance.

An ASIS International past President, Ray O’Hara, CPP, is the Executive Vice President, International Services, Consulting and Investigations at AS Solution. O’Hara brings more than 30 years of experience in the consulting and investigations, corporate security, guard services and law enforcement fields. O’Hara will be instrumental in guiding Building Intelligence in the development of solutions that exemplify the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) model, and produce a return on investment to the corporate security bottom line.

“The solutions that Building Intelligence offers are designed to enhance corporate security services, whether it’s an internal security team or an outsourced guard service, BI solutions offer efficiencies never before seen,” said O’Hara. “I am excited to be able to impact the direction and development of this organization as they grow into a national and global company.”

Ron Martin currently serves on the ASIS International the Security Industry Association Standards Committees, serves on the ASIS International Physical Security Council and is the current Assistant Regional Vice President for Region 3D, (Louisiana/Mississippi). Martin recently retired from Health and Human Services in 2012 as the Physical Security Specialist & Program Manager and is currently managing a not for profit organization as Executive Director for the Open Security Exchange as well as the President of Consullition, a security consultancy.

With more than 30 years of experience in various security management positions for US federal government agencies, Martin will help guide BI in the continued design and development of federally accepted cloud services for security operations and ensure compliance with the latest Federal Identity and Cloud requirements. Martin provided significant contributions to the Federal Identity, Credentialing and Access Management (FICAM) guidelines published by GSA in 2011 and he continues to be instrumental in the design and development of Federal standards and best practices for security in government agencies and facilities.

“I am very pleased to be a part of such a great organization as Building Intelligence,” says Martin. “The solutions they provide address a huge gap in the overall security strategy of many buildings and their perimeter security. BI continues to focus on the authenticated identity of people and things as these areas become an undisputable security requirement in both federal and commercial markets for making access decisions.”

Ray O’Hara and Ron Martin are the first two specialists to be appointed to the BI Advisory Board, however there will be additional announcements over the next several months identifying additional advisors. This extraordinary Board of professionals will be charged with the successful growth of this emerging security company as it expands and produces technology solutions for secure operations.
