Public’s awareness of security cameras is raising the bar on expectations of technology

Vicon Industries has announced the VN-856 series—three cameras which will be part of its I-ONYX line of IP cameras. The series includes colour, day/night and wide dynamic range models.

Mini-dome can multi-task

Toshiba has announced the IK-DF03A, a mini-dome camera designed for cost-effective use. It has a 350° adjustable pan, a 0° to 75° adjustable tilt, and can have a fixed lens of either 3.6, 8.0 or 12.0mm. The IK-DF03A comes in an all-metal housing for dust and moisture resistance, can be mounted on the wall or ceiling, and includes mounting screws, a mounting template and wall plugs.

Customize badges

Continental has introduced the Badging3000. This photo-badge-creating tool allows users to retrieve, view or modify existing badges, which can be printed with a variety of custom images, text and WYSIWYG layouts in addition to magnetic stripes, barcodes, smart chips or holographic images. It can work with either an included camera station, which uses face-finding software for consistent images, or with imported digital photos. In addition, the Badging3000 can come with a printer, camera, capture card and software.
