Stadium is on the ball with new security system Italy’s Bari Soccer Stadium is boosting security by using surveillance products from ACTi to incorporate IP based CCTV systems. The ACTi Video Server SED-2100R and Transcoder SED-3200 are part of a new system that incorporates EL.MO’s DVR, Matrices and monitoring solutions, allowing centralized control and high integration of different CCTV systems. Wireless APs also allow long distance transmission of video and control data. The CCTV system includes 24 analog cameras in total: six pan-tilt cameras are installed around the playing field and 18 cameras are positioned in the parking lots and inside the stadium. The ACTi network video server along with a media converter have been installed for each camera. The server transmits video signals and RS-485 data over the network. In the control centre, 24 pieces of SED–3200 network video transcoders have been installed. The decoders are connected to video distributors in order to transmit video signals to the dedicated monitor, the matrix and the DVR simultaneously. The control centre is equipped with three joystick keyboards for the security agents to display and pan tilt the desired cameras. DSC wins at ISC West Tyco Fire & Security has won the Product Achievement Award in the monitoring category at this year’s International Security Conference Expo West (ISC West) for its Sur-Gard System II single-line IP receiver. “System II continues the industry leadership of our trusted Sur-Gard monitoring station receivers and effectively addresses the monitoring needs of a growing market of proprietary applications, such as college and university campuses, gated communities and condominiums,” says Ron Guttentag, VP and GM, Intrusion Security – Tyco Fire and Security. Programmable via PC-based System II Console software or manually using the scroll buttons and LCD display, System II can be configured for desktop stand-alone operation (vertical stacking of up to four systems) or 19-inch rack-mount installations. Micro Key Software unveiled the Millennium Series access control module at ISC West, allowing alarm dealers and central stations with HID’s VertX CS access control platform to now monitor alarms and access control events with existing hardware, software and personnel. The new module integrates seamlessly with the company’s already-integrated accounting, central station, service tracking and communications modules. Having a single database eliminates redundant data entry tasks and the dependency on multiple systems. The data is automatically synchronized between central station and access control systems. MDI Security Systems designed its ViewPoint V20-2025 camera with the direct needs of security dealer and systems integrators in mind, the company says. The goal was to lower the total cost of deployoment on a job-site by implementing camera features that allow installers to spend “less time on the ladder.” Features include an on-screen display chipset which can be adjusted via handheld spot monitor, three-axis lens mounts, 520 TVL high resolution, high quality Japanese lenses, built in day and night functions, dual voltage capabilities and a vandal-resistant dome housing. AE Light has introduced a shorter version of the HID Powerlight. Designed primarily for professional uses such as law enforcement, EMS, security, inspections and fire investigation, the lights are designed to throw light long distances in a compact form. The new version, PL24/6S, measures just 13 inches and weighs 32 ounces, maintaining a 1300 lumen output and a 60-minute burn time. An optional battery increases burn time to 75 minutes. |
