In an effort to expand its existing sustainability program, Assa Abloy is choosing green electricity for its Canadian Corporate Headquarters in Vaughan, Ont. Assa Abloy says it will reduce its carbon emissions footprint each year by greening approximately 387 MWh of electricity.

Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that its new Schlage SXF2110P-K mid-range keypad/proximity card reader is ideal for applications utilizing legacy proximity systems in which users wish to incorporate two-step verification – something the user has, such as their proximity card, plus something the user knows, such as a PIN – to gain access. Operating at 125 kHz, the up to six-inch (15.24 cm) read range reader conveniently integrates into existing proximity based access control systems and is compatible with most popular proximity credentials.
The SXF2110P-K mid-range keypad/proximity card reader is manufactured with highest quality UV-resistant materials, inhibiting discoloration in all types of environmental conditions, including direct sunlight. They also feature potted electronics and circuitry for protection against inclement weather.

Sensing specialist IEE will present its access control solution, the Tailgate Detector, at the ASIS security show this October.
The Tailgate Detector works with security systems by intercepting the signal emitted from the ID reader (badge system, RFID, biometrics) and determining the status of the access point (open or closed). The sensor then establishes whether a single individual is attempting entry, and in the event of dual or unauthorized entry, triggers an alarm or locks the door.

Videx announces CyberKey Vault 20, a smart key cabinet that offers a whole new level of accountability and key control. Unlike other key cabinets, electronic keys that are stored in the Vault contain no permissions to open any locks in a facility.
